When gearing up to make a strong website, there are 9 things you should brainstorm first. Being familiar with the answers to these questions is essential to building a website that will reach and serve your ideal audience.
What adjectives would you like your dream guest to use when describing/thinking about you and your brand? How would you describe the general vibe you want ideal clients feeling when landing on your website?
What makes you different from your competitors?
List results from your audience poll (from step 1) and analyze who your dream guest is and how you can solve their pain points
List out your services & corresponding pricing menu
Next to each overarching service (think: extensions or color), write out how that service solves a pain point your dream guest has (use their own words!). I highly recommend reading the book “Building a Story Brand” by Donald Miller to help you form a story for your brand.
Star the service/package you would be most excited about people booking.
What makes you qualified to provide the service that you offer?
What keywords are your dream clients using when searching for your services on Google, Yelp or Pinterest?
If your dream guest did one thing on your website, what would you want that to be? (ex. fill out my extensions application, book an appointment, schedule a consultation, sign up for my email list, etc.)
Open up a Google Doc and jot down your responses to all of these topics. Or download the Pre-Website Homework Roadmap to access a Google Doc with these questions already in place. When you brainstorm these 9 things before making your website, you can rest assured knowing you’re building a strong website that will stand the test of time.
